We first noticed Bermuda shorts a few weeks back, and they haven't let up since. Five sources in as many weeks: Vogue clocking them as a GU bestseller at $29.90, Vogue Italia naming them a defining piece of the summer alongside oversized tees, Who What Wear calling them out as genuinely office-appropriate, and The Cut filing them next to capris and barrel jeans as one of the season's decisive silhouettes. Highsnobiety's street-style roundup had them everywhere too, styled with leather loafers as often as with strappy heels.
Part of what seems to be happening is a kind of relief. After seasons of very short shorts or very long everything, the Bermuda splits the difference; it reads tailored without trying, casual without looking undone. That it works from a boardroom to a festival lawn probably explains why it's showing up across such different rooms at once, from minimalist closets to preppy ones.
We keep coming back to a linen-look pair in khaki green for exactly that reason. The rest of what we're eyeing is below.
