Matrix
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026 (updated to disclose Google advertising and remarketing tracking)
1. Introduction
Streamline Technology Labs, LLC ("Matrix," "we," "us," or "our") operates the shopping discovery platform available at shopthematrix.ai (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use the Services, we may collect:
- Name and email address
- Username and password (stored in hashed form)
- Style preferences and onboarding inputs
- Any content you submit, including feedback or survey responses
b. Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit or use the Services, we automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geographic location derived from IP
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent, referring URLs, and clickstream data
- Product interactions — items viewed, saved, clicked, and dismissed
- Session data and unique device identifiers
c. Shopping and Affiliate Interaction Data
When you tap a product link on Matrix, we record:
- Which product was clicked
- The retailer destination
- Timestamp and session context
This data is used to understand what resonates with you, improve our recommendations, and track affiliate attribution. We do not receive your purchase details, payment information, or order confirmation from the retailer — that data belongs to the retailer and is governed by their own privacy policy.
d. Information We Infer
We generate inferences about your style preferences, price range affinities, and aesthetic interests based on your interactions with the Services. These inferences power our recommendation engine. They are not sold to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services
- Surface curated product recommendations relevant to your style
- Track affiliate click attribution for commission purposes
- Analyze usage patterns to improve platform performance
- Send you account-related communications and, with your consent, marketing emails
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your information to make decisions that have a legal effect on you.
4. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Retailers
Matrix earns affiliate commissions when you click through to a retailer and make a purchase. When you tap a product, you leave the Matrix platform and enter the retailer's site. The retailer's own privacy policy governs any information you provide during checkout.
Matrix does not receive your payment information, credit card data, or transaction details. We receive only basic click attribution data (which product, which retailer, when) from our affiliate network partners to verify commission eligibility.
Our affiliate network partners include Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten Advertising, and Impact. Each network has its own privacy practices.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Services.
Types of cookies we use:
Strictly Necessary — Required for the Services to function. These include session authentication and security tokens. Cannot be disabled.
Analytics — We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager to understand how users interact with the Services. This data is aggregated and used to improve the platform. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Functional — These cookies remember your preferences and improve your experience (for example, remembering your style inputs).
Affiliate Tracking — We use affiliate tracking pixels and cookies from our network partners (Amazon, CJ, Rakuten, Impact) to attribute clicks and commissions. These operate under each network's own cookie policies.
Advertising and Remarketing — As of July 25, 2026 we use Google's advertising and remarketing tracking, via the Google Analytics advertising-features / "Google Signals" integration and Google's ad tags (googleadservices.com, googlesyndication.com, doubleclick.net). Stated plainly: the pages and products you view on shopthematrix.ai, and how long you spend on them, are sent to Google and linked to your Google advertising profile. If you are signed in to a Google account with Ads Personalization enabled, Google may connect that activity to your account across your devices. We use the resulting audiences to understand who visits Matrix and to show ads to people who have visited before. We do not receive your name, email address, or Google account identity from this, and we do not receive a per-person profile — only aggregated audience and demographic reporting. Our purpose is to understand how shoppers use Matrix and to show relevant ads, which helps us keep improving the platform — including expanding retailer partnerships. The cookies themselves serve only those two functions, usage measurement and ad personalization; they play no part in choosing which retailers or products appear on Matrix.
How to switch this off — You can turn off Ads Personalization for your Google account at myadcenter.google.com, block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling non-essential cookies may limit some features of the Services.
Cookie banner: The banner shown on your first visit is an acknowledgement of the tracking described here. It does not currently offer a per-category opt-out; the browser and Google controls above are the working controls today.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: We do not currently detect or alter our data practices in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals from your browser.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do, however, share behavioural data with Google for advertising purposes as described in Section 5. Some privacy laws — notably the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA — treat that kind of cross-context behavioural advertising as "sharing" (and in some readings as a "sale") even when no money changes hands. We are telling you this rather than relying on the narrow definition.
We share your information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers — We share information with vendors who help us operate the Services, including hosting (Netlify, Supabase), analytics (Google Analytics), and email communication providers. These vendors process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
Google Advertising — Page-view and on-site activity data is shared with Google for analytics, audience measurement, and remarketing, as described in Section 5. Google processes this under its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Affiliate Networks — Click attribution data is shared with our affiliate network partners (Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten, Impact) to verify commissions. This is limited to click metadata — no personal profile data is shared.
Legal Compliance — We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or valid government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Matrix, our users, or others.
Business Transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.
Aggregated or De-identified Data — We may share aggregated, non-identifiable data for analytics, research, or business purposes. This data cannot reasonably be linked to you.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal profile data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or compliance purposes.
Affiliate click logs may be retained for up to 13 months for commission verification and fraud prevention purposes, consistent with affiliate network requirements.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security on our database layer (Supabase RLS).
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We will notify you and applicable regulators of any data breach as required by law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians may contact us at support@shopthematrix.ai.
Users between 13 and 16 may use the Services only under parental or guardian supervision.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Right to Know — You may request details about what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
Right to Access — You may request a copy of your personal information.
Right to Correction — You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Right to Deletion — You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements. For step-by-step instructions, see our Data Deletion page at shopthematrix.ai/data-deletion.
Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing — We do not sell your personal information for money, but our Google advertising tracking and our affiliate tracking cookies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under some state laws. We do not yet provide an in-product opt-out control. Today you can opt out by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, turning off Ads Personalization at myadcenter.google.com, or emailing support@shopthematrix.ai and asking us to action the request for you — we will honour it.
Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Our Google advertising tracking may amount to "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not currently offer an in-product "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control; email support@shopthematrix.ai and we will action your opt-out request.
EEA/UK Residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing your personal information is typically (a) performance of a contract, (b) legitimate interests (operating and improving the Services), or (c) your consent. You should know that our analytics and advertising tags currently load when a page loads, before you interact with the cookie banner — so we are not yet obtaining prior consent in the manner the EU ePrivacy rules and GDPR expect. If you are in the EEA or UK and want that tracking stopped for you, email support@shopthematrix.ai or block third-party cookies in your browser. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of your rights, contact us at: support@shopthematrix.ai
We may verify your identity before processing your request.
11. International Data Transfers
Matrix is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States. We take appropriate measures to ensure such transfers comply with applicable law, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required for EEA/UK transfers.
12. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Services contain links to third-party retailer websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit when you leave Matrix.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at shopthematrix.ai/privacy and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent notice on the Services. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
