Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small piece of data — often containing an anonymous unique identifier — that is sent from a website and stored on your device. Cookies allow Matrix to recognize your device as you navigate the site, keep you logged in, remember your preferences, maintain security, and generate statistical reports about how the Services are used.

A web beacon (also called a pixel or tracking pixel) is a small, transparent image embedded in a webpage or email. When your browser loads it, the server hosting that image can log information about your device and set or read its own cookies. Matrix uses pixels on some pages to measure traffic and affiliate click attribution.

Matrix also uses embedded scripts, session replay tools, and logging technologies to understand how users interact with the Services and to improve performance.

Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Services to function. They enable core features like account login, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of necessary cookies — without them, the Services cannot operate.

Examples: session authentication token, CSRF security token.

Functional Cookies

These cookies make the Services easier and more personalized to use. They remember your style preferences, onboarding inputs, and display settings so you don't have to re-enter them on each visit.

Examples: style preference storage, returning user recognition.

Performance and Analytics Cookies

These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Services — which pages are visited most, how long users spend on pages, and where errors occur. This data is aggregated and used to improve the platform. It does not identify you individually.

Matrix uses Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager for performance measurement. The data collected includes the pages you view, the order you view them in, how long you spend on each page, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and which site or link referred you.

You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate Tracking Cookies

When you tap a product link on Matrix, affiliate tracking cookies are set by our network partners to attribute the click and any resulting purchase for commission purposes. These cookies are operated by third-party affiliate networks under their own cookie and privacy policies.

Affiliate tracking cookies typically persist for 24 hours to 30 days depending on the retailer's program terms. Matrix does not receive your purchase details or payment information — only basic click attribution data.

Advertising and Remarketing Cookies

As of July 25, 2026, Matrix uses Google's advertising and remarketing tracking. This is enabled through the Google Analytics "Google Signals" / advertising-features integration, which loads additional Google tags from googleadservices.com, googlesyndication.com and the doubleclick.net domains.

In plain terms: your activity on shopthematrix.ai — which pages you look at, which products you view, and how long you stay — is sent to Google and associated with your Google advertising profile. If you are signed in to a Google account with Ads Personalization turned on, Google may also link that activity to your account across the other devices and sites where you use it. Matrix uses the resulting audiences to understand who visits the site and to show ads to people who have visited before.

Why we do this: to understand how shoppers use Matrix and to show relevant ads, which helps us keep improving the platform — including expanding retailer partnerships. To be precise about the mechanism, the cookies themselves do two things and only two things: measure site usage, and personalize advertising. They play no part in selecting which retailers or products appear on Matrix.

Matrix does not receive your name, email address, or Google account identity from this process. We see aggregated audience and demographic reporting, not a per-person profile.

You can turn advertising personalization off for your Google account at any time at myadcenter.google.com (previously adssettings.google.com). Turning it off there stops Google using this activity to personalize ads to you.

You have several options for managing cookies.

Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit shopthematrix.ai, a banner discloses the cookies and tracking described in this policy and asks you to agree. To be clear about what that banner does and does not do: it is an acknowledgement, not a preference centre. It does not currently offer a per-category choice, and there is no in-banner way to decline analytics or advertising cookies. The controls that do work today are the browser and Google account settings below.

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, and to block third-party cookies specifically, through their settings menu. Blocking third-party cookies will stop the Google advertising and affiliate tracking described above. Note: blocking necessary cookies will prevent the Services from functioning correctly.

Google Ads Settings

To stop Google using your activity on this site to personalize ads, visit myadcenter.google.com and turn off Ads Personalization. This is the most direct control over the advertising tracking described in this policy.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT)

Matrix does not currently detect or act on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals from your browser. Earlier versions of this policy said we honored them; that was not accurate and has been corrected. If you want your preference respected today, use the browser and Google account settings above.

Matrix earns affiliate commissions on purchases made through links on our platform. Affiliate tracking is a core part of how Matrix operates as a business. When you tap a product, you are directed to the retailer's website and an affiliate cookie is set to track whether a qualifying purchase occurs. This is how Matrix earns revenue — it does not change the price you pay.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted at shopthematrix.ai/cookies with the effective date updated. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Services or by email.
